Issue 28 - August 2009

Greetings from abdi
AUGUST 09 SPECIAL

abdi, the ROI Institute and Edexcel - the partnership that gives you accredited Gold Standard training in planning and tracking impact

We know already that in 2009 more than 200 L&D and HR professionals will have attended abdi ROI Foundation Courses. Four times the 2008 numbers.

That's because important clients like the Volkswagen Group, RBS, the Strategic Health Authority for Yorkshire and the Humber, Nokia and Nokia Siemens, and Warwickshire College have taken the decision to embed the ROI Methodology in their organisations.

They're sending a clear message. It's time to focus on value and accountability.

Certificates for Warwickshire College’s successful
abdi ROI Foundation Certificate candidates

Warwickshire College - one of the largest in the country - is leading the top FE Colleges in embedding the methodology in its employer-facing work.

It's verdict? Being able to point its company clients to value has helped generate new business - even in the current difficult market.

On 7 July Jane Massy was there to present nine of its key staff with their abdi ROI Foundation Certificates.

'A transforming experience'.........

That's what one of our recent abdi ROI Foundation course candidates wrote to us this month after the event.

His point was that it didn't just take him into a fresh methodology for planning and tracking the impact of people investment - it changed the whole way he thought about his work.

...........which you should share

You can still sign up for one of our 2009 autumn public ROI Foundation courses:

If you've already got the Foundation Certificate - go to the next level

The autumn ROI Evaluator Course, taught by world-class ROI expert Jane Massy is on 18, 19 and 20 November.

All these courses are taught in Cambridge. To secure a place, or for any other enquiries about our services, go to www.abdi.eu.com or call 01223 360 240

And finally, well done Julie Pardy

Julie has been awarded the first abdi/FSSC scholarship - open to professionals working for small firms in the sector. As a result of our partnership with the Financial Services Sector Skills Council, she will get free Foundation teaching this autumn.

Julie's the Regulatory Liaison Manager of Worksmart Solutions, a niche software provider to the financial services industry specialising in Training and Competency Management, Testing, Performance Appraisal Management, Training Administration Management.

'As more organisations become more concerned with their bottom line, and training budgets are squeezed more and more, I would like to take the opportunity to upskill myself in this area,' she says, 'so that I can add value and benefits to our client projects by working with them to focus their training resource in a manner that will support the bottom line as opposed to detract from it.'

We look forward to meeting her - and hopefully you - in the autumn
Happy Holidays
