 Everyone needs time for a break
This time of year in northern Europe, most people at work try and take some time off for a break, to spend time with family and friends and enjoy some sunshine. But it's not what it was a few years ago, when many organisations ran skeleton staff and I know I found time to do some catching up on research and writing.
Perhaps it's a symptom of our own development as we have grown but I think it's also a reflection of a change in pace and competitiveness, there is less time for catch up and time to read than say, ten years ago.
I'm delighted that we are so busy, especially as we are preparing for a really hectic autumn with record workshop bookings and the start of our new Postgraduate Certificate. But making time to reflect, read and discuss new ideas, catch up on old friends and colleagues is an important part of professional life as well as being a human social animal.
This month's newsletter is short and focuses on reminders for those who are interested in upcoming events and workshops. We'll be back with a full newsletter in early September with some exciting changes including video clips of news items and in the meantime, please do send me feedback about what you'd like covered in the newsletter in the future.
If you're having a break, enjoy it and for those working through the month, try if you can to take some time to sit back, stop the 'doing' for a few hours and reflect on what you and your organisation are trying to achieve and not just on the work in hand. If you're looking for reading and are interested in our case studies, let us know and we'll be happy to send them to you. If you're more interested in reading around the topics of outcomes planning, data collection, measurement techniques, data analytics and related subjects, feel free to contact us for some references. We're rebuilding our own 'library' of references as we prepare for our new Postgraduate Certificate and would be happy to hear from you on any recommendations you may have too.

Autumn Workshop Schedule
The autumn schedule allows you to attend the public open abdi ROI Foundation Award workshop almost any month. There are public workshops in September, October and November. These are held in our Cambridge offices. However, if there is a local group with a willing host (for up to 10 persons), we can also hold our workshops wherever you choose.
We also have a large number of in-house workshops in both private and public sector organisations. These are not open to others outside the client organisaiton although occasionally, if someone comes from the same sector or works in another part of the sector (e.g. NHS), we can advise and put you in touch with the workshop organiser who may be able to arrange for you to attend). If you wish to attend the abdi ROI Evaluator workshop (entry is completion of the abdi ROI Foundation workshop and successful achievement of the Foundation Award), there are two public workshops in Cambridge in the autumn, one in September and one in November.
If you wish to register for the Postgraduate Certificate in Impact and Performance Measurement, you MUST attend and have completed the abdi ROI Foundation award. If you have not already done so, and wish to commence your Postgraduate Certificate in October, you will need to attend the September abdi ROI Foundation workshop and submit your assessment for the Award by the end of September. The Postgraduate Certificate in Impact and Performance Measurement will commence on October 26th. The first module three day workshop will be in Cambridge.
