Item1Bringing greater discipline to the planning of OUTCOMES from programme and projects

It often comes as a surprise to participants who contact us to find out how to measure the results and return on their projects and programmes to discover that our first concern is to review what outcome indicators they used in the decision process when planning a programme or project. Some are disappointed when we advise that retrospective evaluations are extremely difficult, less than likely to be possible or cost effective and that putting a few numbers together without an evidence trail through related outcomes is simply not going to provide credible reports.  The key to achieving as well as reporting outcomes and optimal value for money is in disciplined planning ...more

Item2Autumn Workshop Schedule

The autumn schedule allows you to attend the public open abdi ROI Foundation Award

workshop almost any month. There are public workshops in September, October and November. These are held in our Cambridge offices. However, if there is a local group with a willing host (for up to 10 persons), we can also hold our workshops wherever you choose.

We also have a large number of in-house workshops in both private and public sector organisations. These are not open to others outside the client organisaiton although occasionally, if someone comes from the same sector or works in another part of the sector (e.g. NHS), we can advise and put you in touch with the workshop organiser who may be able to arrange for you to attend).  For more information contact info@abdi.eu.com

If you wish to attend the abdi ROI Evaluator workshop (entry is completion of the abdi ROI Foundation workshop and successful achievement of the Foundation Award), there is a public workshop in Cambridge in November.

If you wish to register for the Postgraduate Certificate in Impact and Performance Measurement, you MUST attend and have completed the abdi ROI Foundation Award. Item6Case study: VISION 2020: 'The Right to Sight' initiative: establishing VISION 2020 Links
VISION 2020 is aiming to prevent 100 million people from becoming blind, by eliminating the main causes of avoidable blindness by the year 2020.  The VISION 2020 Links Programme was set up under the auspices of the VISION 2020 UK International Board to help reach this goal. It is a unique programme of institutional partnerships, known as Links, which builds capacity for eye care in developing countries.

A small team at the International Centre for Eye Health within the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine oversees 25 Links at present; 23 of them in Africa. In each Link, a training hospital or institution in the developing country is matched with a (specialist) hospital or medical institution in the UK. It's vital that the Links Programme overseeing the development of each Link can demonstrate two things to existing and potential funding bodies: the true costs of each Link and precisely what is being achieved for this investment.

The VISION 2020 Links Programme has been working with abdi to set up a robust ROI model which answers those questions and will also help to ensure that each Link is set up in a way that will last. if you'd like to read more about this work, please contact us at info@abdi.eu.com
